A GOOD AND RARE PATTERN 1803 FLANK OFFICER'S SABRE SIGNED REDDELL & BATE,
early 19th Century, with 31 1/2 in. single-edged curved steel blade, fullered on each side, blue and gilt, engraved with the Royal arms and cypher, and marked 'REDDELL / & BATE / BIRMINGHAM / WARRANTED', gilt-brass stirrup-hilt with slotted guard pierced with scrolls and knuckle-guard with pierced 'GR' cypher, with hanging bugle above, original wire-bound grip and lion's-head pommel, worn sword-knot, in original black leather scabbard with gilt-brass mounts, scabbard shrunk and worn, stitching split and locket loose
